Monday we got up, had breakfast and went for a bike ride on one of the paths that run through the neighborhoods here. I shot a series of photos while riding along, following Miss Cynthia. Here's one that shows the homes and lake. It's a great bike path that took us to the Mustang Library where Cynthia read a magazine called Art News, and I read about how rich people get rich.
Here's a shot of the library entrance. As we rode along, we discussed how everything in Scottsale is near perfect. At the condo, a team plants new flowers around the fountain and trims all the landscape just so. Along the path special grass is being planted to keep the lawns green for winter. Houses and streets are devoid of old cars, unkept landscape, or any number of things that might detract from the experience of the environment. No messy people here, either. It made me think about why I was so attracted to our old neighborhood, and why our current neighbors probably didn't like my old cars in the driveway...We did a little grocery shopping, laid out in the sun by the pool for a couple of hours, then returned home for a quiet evening, including a salmon dinner and a movie.
